Hi I'm Joe and I've been a Mac user and Britishmac (and Australian Mac) listener for about two years.
I finally switched to Mac after trying Vista for the first time! I have a 20" iMac which I really enjoy using instead of continually fixing/tweaking as with windows.
The other reason I was attracted to Mac was that my first introduction to computing other than the obligatory BBC Model B/ZX81/C64/Amiga was a Sun IPX then various SparcStations so I'm a bit of a Unix/Linux geek
Anyway really enjoying Britishmac keep up the good work Will!
(Unfortunately I'm typing this on an Eeepc as my beloved iMac is currently in the repair shop due to a stuborn superdrive which refuses to eject disks)

Hello Will and the crew, I've been listening to the podcast since show 40ish. Love it long time! My introduction to all things Apple came with the 1st gen ipod. When that went Bung! I bought the U2 ipod and 12" G4 Macbook Pro. I currently use the ipod touch for all my mobile entertainment. I'm seriously thinking of buying the new 17" Macbook pro to add to my growing collection.
Happy days! Bob

Hello again... You were talking about making audio books for the Mac. I have a nice wee App that would save a fair bit of time and effort. It's called Audiobook Builder. It's very easy to use – launch, put the audio book CD in then highlight it in the menu. Simply import all the discs necessary to complete the audio book then finish. It does all the work for you – chapter marks and converting to MB4 AAC and then imports to iTunes. It'll show up as an audio book under Audiobook – just drag it to the Audio book section and then delete the original. Sounds complicated but is reasonably fast and easy. Find it at www.splasm.com. Yes it's not the best web address – had me having a second thought before going to the site! Cheers frae Bonny Scotland, MacJim.

Hello! My name is Alex and I'm from Newcastle-ish area of England. I've been a Mac user since 24th August 08, and have a 20" iMac which replaced my clunky old XP PC. I still consider myself to be a Mac thicko, but I'm getting better. I am now trying to rid myself of all Microsoft-isms at home but unfortunately I have to use 'that other thing' at school all the time.
Keep up the good work, Will! ... even though I have only been listening since No. 82...
Alex, a happy PC abandonner.

Hello Everyone!
My name is Mark and I'm a design engineer from Worcestershire. After the 6th or 7th re-install of Windows on our (admittedly ageing) home laptop, I decided it was time to jump ship. What a great move! Am now the happy owner of a 24" iMac with 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 2 3.06Ghz cores doing all of the grunt work. Have been so pleased with it, and even more pleased to have found the cosy confines of British Mac and the Pussycat Club!
If it's OK with you, I will pull up a chair and order a wee dram of something with which to mull over all things Mac with you splendid folk.
Chin chin!
Mark
p.s. was thinking about Will's competition regarding the "door that leads nowhere"... How about a Tourist Information Office, where new members (like myself) can get orientated? I suppose it would be like some kind of site-map, but more than that it could help visitors understand how best to use the wonderful resource they have stumbled upon... just a thought!

Hi, I've been a Mac user for nearly a year and switched from a Dell PC to a 24 inch iMac. Have been listening to the podcast since around episode 70 and it is a fantastic way to spend the commute to work.
Well done to Will and all involved. Keep up the great work.
All the best,

Hi there Ian.. I'm a big fan of Charlie Brooker..enjoying Newswipe too. However i did see the old curmudgeon launch a long less than favourable attack on Apple, Macs and all who use them. It was hilariously funny and personal about MacUsers. It would however have been funnier if it had been aimed at PC users . You have a great job. But next time you wander past Brooker's PC and he's not looking, turn the display down to 0

Hi all, I live in Sidcup in Kent and I've been listening to the podcast since I switched to the Mac about two years ago. In fact I think I listened to a couple of episodes *before* I switched so I could gain some insight to help me make the decision (to switch that is). Oddly enough it didn't put me off and I bought a 20" iMac with s 2.16GHz processor, 2GB of ram and a 500GB hard disk! I also have a 60GB iPod, an Apple TV and a 16GB iPhone all of which work together beautifully. I've since upgraded from Tiger to Leopard and have stuck in another 1GB of ram, and it's always a pleasure use it. I don't think I've ever sworn at it either, something that was a common occurrence with the PC's I owned! I also love he fact that my Mac has UNIX at it's core as I've been a UNIX sysadmin for many years, although for the last 2, I've been more on the engineering side and spend much of the day programming in perl, bliss Anyway, keep up the good work with the podcasts, just toasting you now with a pint of Chiswick Ale, chin chin! Mark P.S. Will, perhaps you could try different ales each week instead of that cheap plonk (I did laugh last episode when you choked on that Echo Valley!). I recommend Fullers Golden Pride, a fruity number and 8.5%!
