Couple of clues then, she's a french actress, its a British scifi film made in the mid 80's. the character didn't have an actual name in the film.
And I had to crop the picture to make it safe for work/younger viewers.

Well it's not Isobelle Adjani and she's the only French actress that was was regularly getting her kit off in the eighties that I can remember…. Hmmm - British sic-fi film in the eighties…. I can't think of any….. Space 1999 the movie?

No not Space 1999.
One of the male stars of the film went on to become head of MI-5, another became Captain of the USS Enterprise.

British? If it's the film I'm thinking about... American Director, Italian Producer… Could have been filmed here I suppose and probably was. But that would make Superman a British film too!
Anyway, I think I know who it is but I cheated by looking up the captain of the USS Enterprise on iMDB so someone else should give it a go!

Mostly British then. You are right about the director, I think it was filmed here, Uk studio, most of the actors were British.

Loved, really loved the book when I was a teenager. Really enjoyed the Audible version recently. Must go back and have a look at this though from memory it wasn't that great. Did anyone see the TV series and if so, how was it?

I think I have worked out the film you are thinking of. If I am right you have the wrong one.
It's not Dune.

Oh no it's not. OMG That is the stunning Mathilda May in the 1985 film "Lifeforce". I think her character is called "Space Girl". She was a sort of space vampire. Ooh! ;D

From the poster that looks reeeeally bad… maybe so bad it was brilliant Oh this was bad alright. So bad it was awful. However it has carved out it's own place in pop culture. Not Dune though…
