Most notable thing for me is that iWeb hasn't been updated at all! Some nice touches in iPhoto. I like the audio editing in iMovie, but can't see myself ever going near the trailer templates. The new Garageband looks good. Given the quality of my guitar playing, I'll probably use Flextime and Groove Matching quite a lot. And I'm pleased to see new Amps & Stompboxes, although I would have liked to see a few more. It would also have been good to give developers the ability to create additional stomp boxes. But poor old iWeb has been shunted off to the great website in the sky. Even iDVD gets a decimal point update. I have a couple of websites which I have created in iWeb. I was looking for some upgrades. Tables, for example. And some new widgets. But not a bean. So, will I shell out £69 for a family pack? Which incidentally is only $79 in the US. At today's exchange rate that is £49.88 - add 20% VAT (as it will be in the New Year) that should equate to £59.86 Not tonight, anyway.

I haven't even checked, but can you buy single iLife Apps? So if I only wanted the new Garageband, I could pay a fraction of the price? I think I'll update to Lion. Snow Leopard was always a 'if I have a spare £30 I'll get it' but such a time never came about, and I don't feel it did enough new stuff to warrant it being a priority on my Amazon Wishlist. So, I'm running 10.5, iLife 08 and MS Office '09.

The Mac App Store (available within 90 days) might offer individual iLife Apps but I think the example they used in the keynote was an individual iWork App (as is already possible on the iPad) so I wouldn't be surprised if iLife remains as an integrated bundle.
I thought Snow Leopard was an amazing upgrade for a bargain price. For Intel machines it was pretty much a no-brainer. It was like having a new, faster machine.
EDIT: I've just read that individual iLife Apps will be available on the new Mac App Store at $14.99 each (and iWork Apps will be $19.99 each).
