Starts today! Don't know if I like it or not, I don't think I like the idea of iTunes/iPod/iPhones becoming 99% of Apple's focus. Yes, I know it's a Mac App Store, but it's very iTunesey. www.apple.com/mac/app-store/I can't use it though. I'm on ye olde Leopard. I can't see any point in getting Snow Leopard now, I'll wait for Lion.

I'm on the verge of installing Snowy. From what I've been hearing on Twitter, the App Store is currently selling Apple software for very silly money.
Aperture 3 for less than £50. Individual parts of the iLife or iWork sets for less than a tenner.
I'm intrigued enough to bring forward my Snow Leopard installation day.

It works really well, and seems to be very responsive too, especially as today must be one of its busiest days. It's nice how the App icons drop down to the Dock and the progress bar appears (just like in iOS)
It's true that the price of Aperture has been slashed! I'm pretty peed off about not being able to get a refund of the difference from what I paid a few months ago. Grrrr. Oh well. If it attracts tons more users then maybe it'll get better support and I'll benefit in that way.
I wonder if we'll see Logic appear at a lower price at some point? I'd be very interested in that.
Alan.

As to 'Snowy' as Heather calls it - depends on your hardware but how about performance for one? There are quite a few little tweaks that I really like as well.

Very good Application (i also like the way the application drops to the dock!) Thanks to the store I have found a fantastic Application called Password Pad Lite. It's free and you can encrypt (XOR) the contents of files(up to 512 characters) Full version is only £2.99 and is much more secure with no character limit.

^I'm assuming Lion should run on my iMac.
2008 20" model, 2.6Ghz, 2GB RAM. I have said it before, but I think I'll get a new iMac in 2015. Seems like a good year, and by then my iMac will be 7 years old (and hopefully still running fine)
I'm still looking for a MacBook, but that's on the backburner, I have a rather large hole in my pocket at the minute, in the shape and size of a month in Australia.

I'm scared of 1Password. I had a bad experience last time I used it.

No, i don't think so. You can encrypt a file with all your information, with a single password to open the file (or is that like 1password?)
update-I'm up to 1024 characters so far and it still works!
What bothers me more is where do i now get icons and things?

Think the App store is a great feature just bought Aperture 3 as an early birthday present for £49.99 while the Apple store is asking £173.

Beware of accidental purchases on Mac App Store though... If you click on something by accident after putting in your password to buy a different app you may end up with an unexpected bill ! They really should implement the iTunes Store model of popping up a message to ask you to confirm purchase before the download begins ( I did see some apps in the App Store in the hundreds of pounds ! Wouldnt want to accidentally buy one of those... ).

I want to know why they got rid of the Shopping Cart from iTunes. A much better system.
