Lion could be the last one before OS 11. I mean, there are other cats but now they are getting a bit silly, like 'Liger' "The look and feel of Tiger, but with more features!" There's Puma... But in reality, the Lion is the most majestic big cat, suggesting this could be the last.

Puma has already been used. It was 10.1, the first proper version to be released. I started using OS X at 10.2 Jaguar.

I know about as much as Will, but maybe Lion is the end of the line. Would be good to start a new naming convention with a common iOS/OS 11 with the common NeXTSTEP base. Though perhaps we're not ready for this yet.

However, if there is another cat-related release, there are still plenty of options:
Cougar (another name for Panther, I understand, but perhaps still a possibility given Top Gun) White Tiger (sounds like a missed upgrade release opportunity) Black Panther (ditto) Lynx (has to be an option) Caracal (my money is on this for whatever the final cat-related release is. I suspect relatively unknown.)

Hmm. What about Ocelot?

^I thought about those, but I said in another thread that Lion is the most majestic big cat, so any name after that would sound like a step down.

OS 11 here we come? - Do you think they'll be a bigger gap?

Integration is good, but when the future of desktop systems looks bleak, I don't want to be reminded of the iMac's impending doom to handheld devices.

The mac is a pro product, the iPad isn't - the mac isn't touchscreen and trying to unite the UIs won't help apple!

If Steve thinks we should have one combined OS for the same look and feel, we should!
