Siri seems to be as big a step forward in voice recognition as the original iPhone screen was to touch-screens.
It's still not perfect, and is missing some functionality which I'm sure will come in future releases, but it's the first time I used voice-recognition which felt like a usable tool and not just a gimmick.

It's a shame we got stuck with failed-movie-voiceover guy, and an even bigger shame his answer to most things is "I can only answer that in an untied state and while wearing a merkin", or something like that.

I feel like Siri is the start of something "big". I am sure a choice of voice will come in future versions. Probably a choice of personality too. I would love a Marvin voice. "Weather? Don't talk to me about weather. Here I am brain the size of a planet and you are asking me about the weather".

Anybody having any issues? Battery life etc? I thought my battery was going down bit fast but have let the battery drain out a couple of times (like you would do with a MacBook) and it seems fine now. Better than my 3g ever was and it's doing more. Maybe I'm just a lucky one

Mine is fine.
Much better than my old 3Gs
Gaming heavily seems to hit it hard but that is only to be expected.
