Hi All, the battery died on my laptop last night mid iphoto edit! as a result the photo database has become corrupt and I can't access any of my pictures.
I have a time capsule so I tried to copy my iphoto Library into my use profile\pictures\ directory.
This had no efffect and the progrm is now asking to create a new library.
how would I restore the library from my backup. I obviously need to copy more than just the photo library. can anyone help. Cheers

The first step would be to see if the original database can be repaired by holding down the option key and the command keys whilst opening iPhoto.
This will give you various options to rebuild various parts of the database.
I think you are already past this though as you have tried to copy the backup iPhoto database to your pictures library.
If you hold down the option key whilst opening iPhoto you will get the option to choose which iPhoto library you want to open, you should be able to navigate to you iPhoto library and select it to open.
Hope this helps

All up and running, it was easier than I thought copy the iphoto Library file (57.54 GB) onto the /user/pictures/ directory I had failed before as the file was so huge and it just took a while.
