I thought that this was one of the devices that did work. Please be specific. What are you charging and what gadget are you trying to charge it from? Cat

I am trying to charge my iPhone 3G with a Bose SoundDock (an original one from a couple of years back), when i plug it in it says that its not compatible for charging.

My (very limited) understanding re. charging via the Bose SoundDocks is that the latest versions do use USB docking pins for charging, but that some older versions used the FireWire pins for charging.
I seem to remember reading something a while back about Bose planning to offer an aftersales service to customers which involved returning the SoundDock to them for the charging circuits to be 'updated' before being returned. I'm not sure if this was going to be offered for free, or at a cost. A phone call to Bose may get you a better answer about your particular SoundDock though.
