So, it was nothing to do with Steve's health - he simply didn't want the embarrassment of standing on stage for 1 hour 35 minutes and saying so little! The new MBP 17" which makes mine obsolete looks nice enough although the non-removable battery will prove very controversial. iLife 09 doesn't seem to have enough in it to make me part with any cash. I've never met anyone who uses iWork anyway and although the DRM on iTunes music is annoying, it's not that hard to get round it if you want to. Bet there's no Quicktime stream of this one! Presumably, Apple declared MacWorld dead some time ago and just didn't bother to tell us until a couple of weeks ago. They'll make product announcements in their own time and in their own sweet way. Not the first week in January.

I use iWork. Keynote is one of my favourite Apps. It's awesome (but obviously not if you don't prepare presentations!). Pages is much better than it used to be. Numbers is OK, but nothing like as powerful as excel (yet). Will have to look and see what's in the new versions.

Yes, I liked Keynote when I had version 1 a few years ago - but I don't do enough presentations on my Mac to make paying for the whole suite worth upgrading when I don't want another word processor and can't do without Excel.
Incidentally - congrats on your 100 - welcome to the MPCC status

Bet there's no Quicktime stream of this one! Ooh, I hope there is. I enjoy them even if the news is sparse.

I can't bring myself to watch ritual humiliation or human sacrifice. It goes against my religion. But for those of you who don't share my Christian sensibilities, it is available here <clicky>

Hi Chaps, I've just posted up a brief rundown of some of the new iLife features, for those that are interested, on my blog here: www.britishbrain.com/files/iLife%2009.phpI'm looking forward to iMovie 09. Looks like they've fixed a lot of issues and put back some stuff that should have been in iMovie 08!

Nice, but I am more interested in whether or not they have given me the ability to lock the headers in Numbers.

Nice iPhoto stuff, apparentley it can sync face tags with facebook, is that a good thing? You wouldn't exactly want some idiot writing a load of rubbish on your fb tags, and then that going into your precious iPhoto library, is anyone on the board going to upgrade?

Nothing compelling there for me. If I buy a copy of Leopard though I will go for the Big Mac Pack or whatever it was called. Leopard + iWork + iLife

I'll be upgrading. I'm a sucker for all those flashy effects and themes in iMovie. :z

Is anyone going to bother to wait for Snow Leopard? There doesn't seem to be a lot of new features, but it's meant to be loads faster, i.e a full install takes 13 minutes!!! But a full install of Leopard takes 1 hour.

I would like the extras in iPhoto and any thing to improve iDVD would be cool but not sure if it's worth buying just for that.
