Just seen this on 9to5, and its real, Steam(the games client) is really/finally coming over to the mac! ;D Could this mean an end to using bootcamp for games.... Plus any games you bought on the windows side, you'll get a free download of the mac version where available + all future valve games are going to be released simultaneously Mac/Windows/360 store.steampowered.com/news/3569/ ;D ;D ;D

I have not heard of Steam. Is this a significant company announcement? I am not much of a gamer.

Yes very much so Half Life 2 - and its source engine are very big news. I have not heard of Half Life the game. Still it is nice to know that some titles are coming to the Mac platform. This must mean that there is a sufficient market share now for these companies to consider it worthwhile. I was not really aware that people still use computers for games anymore. I thought it was all consoles now. Catp.s. I have only ever bought two games for my Mac and both of them were well back. I will have to post some screenshots and see if you can recognise them. p.p.s. I played lemmings on the Spectrum once. I quite liked that.

Valve is really the number one distributer of Pc Games these days. Their steam client allows you to buy games via download and play them without the need for discs. You can install games on multiple machines although only one person can play online at a time. Plus you can re-download an unlimited number of times. It used to be mainly Valve's inhouse games eg Half Life, Counterstrike, games based on the source engine etc, But in the past few years they've got most of the big names onboard so now you can pretty much buy any pc game through them including many old classics like Wolf 3D, Doom & Quake Series... With an easy delivery client for the mac, hopefully it might encourage more companies to also consider dual release. ;D This is a big deal

Ooh, that is art mimicking art, paying homage to art, that analogues a future life with elements of a past life so business practices of the present can be parodied. Gosh.

What? So I don't play computer games. Well that is I played two. They took up so much of my time I decided not to bother again. Anyway how exciting can watching elements decay be? Half life indeed.
