I am really enjoying this FreeComics widget. A new slice of humour every day. Mine is set to Dilbert by default but there are many more choices. <Clicky

First discussed on British Mac #49 this is one that Will mentions a lot. Now any cat will tell you that fortune telling is nonsense but as a bit of fun why not try out the Tarot card of the day widget? < Clicky

This widget is a little beauty. It is a simple to use countdown timer. It takes so little space and it will announce outside of the dashboard too. Wonderful! < Clicky Note it will also act as a sleep function, turning down your iTunes music at the end of it's time. Also it can act as an alarm, it will even open files at the end of the countdown. This is fast becoming my favourite widget.

As much as I love that last widget there are some things in life that are days away rather than minutes. So this widget fills that gap. Whether you are counting down to your wedding, to the weekend or to the launch of the next iPhone this will keep you posted. < Clicky Note if you visit the parent website they have a version that you can embed into a web page too.

The free comic widget posted to above does Garfield. It also does about twenty other popular comics.

Will likes widgets that predict stuff. Maybe that is why he likes Zoltar. First mentioned in British Mac #52 this widget is creepier than most. < Clicky

iTunes internet radio is great but you can’t get every channel. To fill that gap here is a nice little internet radio widget that will let you get almost any station. < Clicky

I really liked the light bulb widget as it lit up my very dark dashboard. However it was not very “cool” not very “Austin Powers”. So I have replaced it with my very own lava lamp. < Clicky How very cool is that?

The guys down at Taco would like a donation for this one, if you find it useful that is. CharacterPal is a widget that gives you a quick visual clue to all of those keyboard characters that come is so handy. I learned from it that Option+Shift+K has proved very convenient when describing to others which keys to press . Go on give it a try in any word processor Opton Shift K. < Clicky You may have this already of course, it was mentioned in BM #55

Do be do be do, do, do be do do, do be do be do, do, do be do do dooooo Anyway enough to the Frank Sinatra. This widget is called Dobedo. It gives instant access to your “to-dos” without having to open iCal. Mentioned in BM 56 this is a bit more useful than the last widget I suggested, but perhaps less fun. < Clicky

What I asked for was a widget in the form of a “magic” eight ball. I wanted it to give simple predictions when asked questions. What I wanted was an eight ball what I got was a rubber chicken. < Clicky
