Steve has just emailed a complainant to say that a fix is 'coming soon'. It is being reported that iOS4.1 is running significantly better on 3G by beta testers, so let's hope it is released soon. I wonder what "soon" will mean? Still it is nice that Steve loves us enough to sort out the problem.

Well, I set my iPhone 3G to update itself to iOS 4.1 overnight. Woke up this morning to find that the update had installed successfully. It is certainly faster - and as far as I can see much more stable - no app crashes so far. Even Simon the Sorcerer - which is the buggiest app I have tried so far - seems to be running fine. Don't think any of the new features work on the 3G, but at least I have my phone back.

Don't know, but I think most of the new 'features' - especially Game Center - are available to you.

Hi Stomps - I've got a 3G and like the Cat have noticed a good uplift from the (terrible 4.01) performance. No Game Center though - I'm not surprised as the 3G processor can hardly handle Hasbro's BattleShip - which I'm enjoying tremendously

It's not that hard to revert back to IOS 3.1.3. I did it several times before realising the 'spotlight issue' went some way to alleviating some of the problems. try this if you're still not happy with IOS 4... lifehacker.com/5572003/how-to-dow....os-4-to-ios-313Thanks for sharing the link!

I don't know if I'll get the new iPhone nor new iPad now so many things are breaking down.

I'm out of contract now, but I've been hanging on for a white iPhone 4. But it looks as though it is never going to see the light of day, so I might have to settle for a black one which won't match my lovely Klipsch headphones.
Dilemas dilemas!

Gave up waiting last week & bought the black one while there is still an eBay market for my 3G.
And the iPad on which I am writing this!
Shiny, shiny!
