^Glad you sorted it. There is nothing worse than being stuck with software you hate. Especially if you use it every day and the old versions were good.

Agree with millstonebarn about the audio theme on the icon.
Considering how much iTunes does now I find it surprising they haven't thought about renaming it to something more generic or reflecting the various services within the icon.
On the other hand though I can understand the impact renaming would have and itunes is such a well known brand now...

Here's what the old iTunes looks like for those who want to compare: \ How thoughtful, thanks. Funny how quickly you forget! Here's the new grey version 10, for those who want a peek. Attachments:

Here's the new grey version 10, for those who want a peek. Thanks for that. I like the new traffic light layout. Seems to me it should look like that whenever possible. Not sure about the grey. I may download it, the problem with Apple downloads is that there is no "Whoa, I don't like that let me have the old version back" button.

The Beatles… is that all? How disappointing - I was hoping for something to do with that data centre they're building….

I predict that your 'hack' will soon be 'patched'. In a few years, iTunes will release without any CD-import capability. Because who actually buys CDs?

It may be that portable machines don't have optical drives. I can't see desktops losing them any time soon. Whilst ever such drives are standard I can't see iTunes losing the ability to Rip Mix Burn.
