Meh. It looks like the real revolution will come in the 2012 MBP update. That's when they'll be more like bigger & faster MBAs.

Not sure if a revolution is needed. These new toys are twice as fast as the old ones and they have Thunderbolt. As a Pro tool they look pretty spectacular to me.

Spectacular they may be, but my three-year-old MBP will have to soldier on a for a good while yet.
That said, I'm hoping I may become the custodian of a 2009 model 24in iMac shortly, as part payment for an outstanding debt. That'll ease the burden on the MBP, at least as far as photography work is concerned.

It's always good to see speed boosts and new features, but I've just bought the 11" Air. Having already owned an iBook Clamshell, PowerBook G4 12" and MacBook Pro Santa Rosa 15.4" I'm happy to report it's the best notebook/laptop I've owned Surprised to see the old white MacBook is still available. If Apple had given the new MacBook Pros a newer slimmer design I might have been tempted.

Imagine if recent MBA upate had just been an evolutionary speed boost coupled with a new port. It would have been welcome but a tad disappointing. The revolutionary new design made it absolutely compelling. That's what I reckon the 2012 MBPs will be like, so this year's MBP update is just a bit dull, and in hindsight will probably turn out to be the least optimum time to have purchased/upgraded a MBP. Don't need Thunderbolt, they are not that much faster and don't need the graphics capability. So no, not for me. But if i won one...
