Yes I would like to do the whole event thing one day too. I think it is one of those things that probably would be more enjoyable if you went in a group. Perhaps we should get a BritishMac posse together ? Lol

Cat's reasons for being in an Apple Store queue (In no particular order) - To get your mug on the telly or in newspaper
- To get free Tshirt
- To get a full year of "smug" before the next one is out
- To enhance your wacky reputation
- To enhance your geeky reputation
- To make geeky friends
- To get away from the girlfriend for a while
- To be able to say "I got one you haven't Ner Ner"
- To get your app. tested on the hardware ASAP
- To get an exclusive gift for a friend
- To get an exclusive gift for you
- To make a few quid on Ebay
- To buy as many as you can for that nice Russian fellow who is paying you to queue for him
- To sell you place in the queue
- To be out with that Apple fanboy you fancy so much.
- To prove to your psychiatrist that it is too early to come off the meds
There may be more.

I watched the queue at Norwich, but didn't actually buy this time.
See the video from opening time:
Anyone buy an iPad2 on launch day?
