I installed to a partition, used it,didn't like it and deleted it! may take some time before i commit to a sole Lion install. The app store reviews are not glowing...

There's definitely something about Lion being tuned for small screen sizes. It works really well on an 11" screen and you can see the point. I'm still on SnowLeopard on the iMacs and will probably stay so till 7.1 like you Mr Cat…. never thought of cats as sensible before

we have Lion running on the 2011 27inch iMac and 24 inch (can't remember year - it was the last of the white ones I bought it just as the silver ones came out). its running fine on both. I must admit I really like the gestures using the trackpad rather than the mouse. So does the wife, so I am going to have to buy a track pad for her iMac.
I also have Lion server running on a macbook at the moment (I will be migrating that to the Mini when I get some more memory for it) that was easier to set up than I thought it would be, I managed to get Mail, Web and file sharing all working on Saturday morning in just a couple of hours, that includes iOS device access from outside our home network and webmail etc.
So far I have not found any problems. I don't use any older software though, other than eclipse (Java IDE) I guess, the only thing I found with that is when first running it under Lion it needed to download java. Previous versions of OSX had that included.

I am really liking Lion on my MacBook Pro at home. I turned off the inverse scrolling though as I am using a Snow Leopard MacPro at work and it was too confusing to switch back and forth ... I am loving Mission Control, and can't wait for Adobe to implement versions (sometime in 2013 probably...)

I can only sympathize; I am waiting on Iomega to update their firmware before I install Lion. Then again I might just hang on anyway for the dust to settle and the bugs to be squashed. I understand that WD have released updates to support Timemachine under Lion, but Iomega have not. In addition the latter are indicating that their 'older' model network drives may not receive Lion upgrades. My Home Network drive is an 'older' model and I bought and registered it in May of this year. There are some very angry messages from unhappy Home Network Drive owners on the support forums of Iomega at the moment.

One week on, Lion installed on a 2008 MB, App Store broken the only casualty, simply re downloaded now all fine. WD back up fine. Also installed on a 2010 MBP, #seamless.

I have another problem with Lion. Jumsoft Money 3 "does not support Lion" I have been using Money 3 for a while and having eventually got used to it found it just about OK. Now I find that the Reports feature no longer works - just when I needed it. Jumsoft recommend version 4 so I downloaded the trial version. A complete washout, mistakes in the layout, the Reports are completely different and couldn't work out how to edit them. The font is too small and faint to suit my eyesight. In short I have now uninstalled the trial version and I am now inviting suggestions for a replacement. Somewhere I have seen iBank recommended. Does anyone have any suggestions, ideally it should be easy to migrate data from Money 3 but I suppose that is asking too much.

Another - potentially serious bug. I've just installed Lion onto my wife's 27" iMac. I have this set up so that she is not an Administrator - and I have an unused Administrator account to install software etc. Lion installed without problems - but when I tried to update some software, I was asked for my Administrator password - which it rejected. In Users & Groups, I didn't exist any more. So, the machine was left without an Administrator account!!!! A bit of Googling revealed that I was by no means alone. The user folder was still there, so the solution was to boot into recovery mode, change the Root password, then log in as Root and re-add myself as an Administrator using the existing user folder. All is well now, but a few hairy moments in the process.

Once again I have to thank you Mr Stomps for doing all the OS testing for me. Us scaredy cats don't adopt a new OS until they are in x.2 at least.
