Hi I am playing around with iWeb as my first foray for producing a web site. I realise from the various forums that it may not be the best, but it seems simple enough and good enough for my first go…
I am almost at the stage of publishing my site - getting a domain name and hosting company - (UK2.net obviously).
But have some questions does any one know of a good resource to go to..
Questions include • Compatibility for Firefix and Chrome - form my local folder, I have some issues • Adding a facility for visitors to add comments • On going management of iWeb once the site is up and running.
Many thanks
Stu

I'm sure there are others far more qualified to comment but I would go no further with iWeb. It's effectively dead and Apple as far as I know are pretty much killing it off and iCloud has no support etc.
The other thing is that as easy as it is to use, and as free as it is, it's extremely limited and hardly anyone to my knowledge develops any add-ons.
I went for RapidWeaver (£54.99), should have everything you need and easy to use with quite a lot of themes and add-ons available.
Sorry to be such a killjoy but my wife invested a whole load of time in creating an iWeb site and now needs to get it redone so better to cut and run now!

Yup. +1 for Rapidweaver here too. The only thing is that to make Rapidweaver really useable, you'll have to buy Stacks 2 as well. This REALLY opens things up as you get far more control over what you can do and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of free and paid 'stacks' that you can you to enhance your site. For example: www.doobox.co.ukjoeworkman.net/rapidweaverwww.stacks4stacks.com

I will have to re-do my site too I think. Shame, as I really quite liked iWeb.
