I have just finally got the update for my iphone and I have been shamelessly downloading apps! So far I have downloaded:
omnifocus ( been waiting for this one since the announcement of the app store!) twitterific facebook remote super monkey ball! voice record.
All these apps, I'm pleased to say, have worked a treat! I can't wait to see what apps are developed in the future!
What apps have you downloaded or are anticipating?

Snap! Well nearly...
No Facebook (have never Facebooked or MySpaced), and I have Things rather than OmniFocus (though I'm really torn between the two desktop apps, but that's another post).
The kids love Super Monkeyball. I prefer Enigmo - which is excellent.
I've now abandoned PocketTweets for the free version of Twitteriffic.
Remote is great.
The best app for me though is Evernote, which was mentioned on this week's show. I've been using the desktop app for a few weeks - along with the iPhone web app. It is an excellent place to keep stuff for free (though you can pay for more storage if you're a heavy user). The new iPhone app is fantastic. If you haven't tried it, you should.

Oops, meant to add...
What I really want is:
A streaming radio client that will get BBC stations.
A newsreader. MacSoup for the iPhone would be great.

apps i use.
Remote. awesome, looks great and works.
NetNewsWire. syncs with NetNewsWire for os x. The best RSS reader from what i've seen & used.
PangeaVR. wow.
Shazam. incredibly cool, how long before they charge for this?
Evernote, Exposure, Facebook & twitterific all do a job.
Bloomberg. Excellent app but not that easy on the eyes.
Rotary Dialer. Very cool but not very useful.
Cube Runner. poor graphics but addictive game play.

I also want streaming radio...
All seem to be US store only... along with the eBay app.

Just an update. Twitterific is better than i first thought. I think it will end up replacing hahlo for me.
A few early gripes as follows...
Some apps are US store only!?!?!? I can put up with the odd app crashing here & there but i don't like my iPhone rebooting!
Also.. I'm finding Super Monkey Ball really frustrating but thats because I'm really useless...

I'm looking forward to their being a Tom Tom equivalent piece of software!! I would love to be able just to carry around my phone rather than another piece of kit!

it'll never happen with this generation apparently. The SDK expressly forbids the development of this sort of app - supposedly due to the excessive battery drain it would cause (I think i got this off of TWIT) sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings

That's a shame, the Google maps GPS function just doesn't cut it in the car. The phone signal even when 3g can't download the information fast enough in real time.
It's cool when on foot and in a good signal area though.
The labyrinth app is quite good (and free) and also Lockbox has potential for storing info on your phone securely. I wish the built in standard notes app had a password function.
cheers

Apps I use...
Palringo. The best messaging client for the iphone so far, by miles. I use this at work where I only get a weak GPRS signal and it works flawlessly when chatting to my MSN mates in Australia and the US.
NetNewsWire. A good, free, RSS reader from NewsGator that works in conjunction, and syncs with a browser based service on your Mac. When you've read a feed on one platform it syncs as read on the other.
FileMagnet. Read/view various types of files on your iphone including PDF, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and many others.
Units. A simple conversion utility that works very well.
AccuFuel. Monitor your vehicles fuel usage. A handy App to have with the price of fuel at the moment.
Paul.

My favourite apps are:-
Locly. Finds me better than vicinity which thinks I'm 150 miles away from where really am Wikipanion. Simple Wiki access on the go. Solves many arguements ;D Remote Garagebuy. As ebay app is American based and shows prices in dollars.
As for games Papijump is incredibly simple but addictive and Face Melter is great fun.
