No one seems to have mentioned one of my favourites which is the Last.fm app. Now updated to version 2 and compatible with 2.1 firmware this is probably one of my most used apps. -- Scott ukmac.net

I could never really get the hang of Missile Command - more of a Defender boy me..
Anyway, now I have an iPhone I've been playing with some apps.
Best paid for one so far is TimeLogger which is great if you do work for different clients and have to keep a time record - lovely little app.
NoteToSelf is also quite useful and only 59p
A free one i quite like but wish they did a UK version is TopNews which is a Associated Press news feed that keeps you up to date with US/global news
Lurve my iPhone ;D

Fring - not only an instant messaging client but it brings Skype to the iPhone too! And it's free. What's not to like? Trailguru - route mapping, timing & measuring - especially useful for walking/ running - although it does like a good signal & has to be the frontmost application so it does drain the battery.

The hippies playing Stairway to Heaven on their iPhone Ocarinas are a wonder to be beheld, but did my eyes deceive me or was one of them actually smoking his iPhone, hookah style?

This looks seriously cool OcarinaGives a whole new slant to playing on your iPhone. This is outstanding Open up prefs and you get a whole load of instruments Then go to the globe and get people playing all over the world. If you've set prefs to 'Share your melodies' you end up playing to a worldwide audience. How cool is that? Ian Who is off to find some flares, a cheesecloth shirt and an old army surplus greatcoat!

Open up prefs and you get a whole load of instruments Not quite, what you get is a load of different keys to switch the Ocarina into. I'm loving that application, there are a load of scores on their web site to play and it's a lot of fun. I've never had my battery down as low as when I was playing it yesterday!

I don't think anyone has mentioned Aroundme - a great "finder" for pubs supermarkets etc, based on where you are.
