The forum still works, rejoice the British Mac Forum.
Anyone else still here?

Yep I'm still here! I've given up on Slack, so this original PussyCat Club is featured on the new BritishMac site www.britishmac.com. Time to drive the community back here.

Hi Will, great to see you on good form again and all the revived and new stuff. Good luck, I'll be listening. Rob p.s. I was totally confused by Slack - I think it's my age. Cheers.

Hi Rob,
It's great to be back on track and keeping up consistency with BritishMac, I've not got a great track record in that respect :-)
The BritishMacMini's help keep me focussed as a full BritishMac takes a good day to put together, so broadly speaking BritishMac full once a month, and BritishMacMini once a week.
Thanks for staying part of the forum and subscribing to BritishMac.
Kindest regards,
Will

Hello! Never could get the hang of slack. I love old school forums! I think I was a moderator in the old days. It’s great to be back.

Okay guys, I’m now 38. I’ve been really into tech all my life. I’d like to think I’m not an old duffer yet....Slack just seems like an incomprehensible mess to me. I had to use it for a work thing for a while and it’s so unintuitive.
There just seem to be some really poor software usability design choices happening at the moment. I wonder whether it’s to do with bright ideas in startups being pushed forward without the money to pay for proper UI/UX designers?
What do you all think? Is anything you’re using now notably easier than it was 10,15 or 20 years ago?

I was the same with Slack. I'm not stupid but it was so unintuitive that I never got my head around it at all. It's like some forums I use have moved over to Discourse which I think is pretty awful as well. It's difficult to beat a good, decent forum for ease of use and ability to track conversations. I moderate a very large UK based forum of over 120,000 members and it doesn't look much different to how it did fifteen years ago!
