so i got up this morning to buy a 3G iPhone PAYG left the house at 8:30 and drove to my local CPW store in Devizes after an hour of their nonsense they finally told me they'd made a mistake which set off the "hurricane" anti-fraud system so i am now banned from purchasing anything at the Carphone Warehouse for the next 30 Days (meh like i care 'bout their crappy store anyways) so after narrowly escaping a parking ticket since i'd gone past the 1hour free parking. I drove to Trowbridge stopping in the o2 store only to be told that they only had 16GB units on contract and could set me up with a contract if i wanted after a while i found out that they are a franchised store and not owned by o2 so i drove to the next large town Chippenham paid my 50p Parking walked into the o2 Owned store and they told me yes they have the 16GB phones on PAYG and that they would sell me one finally got home at 12:00 with less than 5 hours to play with my new phone before i have to go to work this evening
P.S. i hate the Carphone Warehouse so much it hurts

P.S. i hate the Carphone Warehouse so much it hurts Whilst I genuinely feel sorry for your pain I have to say that your eloquent summing up of your feelings has made me smile for the last hour. CPW really are a shower. I don't know how they have managed to get so big. Cat

Been happy playing with my shiny new toy during breaks from work this evening. Free Space is now less than 3GB i'm so glad i bought the 16GB now sorting through my 2GB worth of iPhoto albums (they're in worse order than a teenage bedroom). Finally a reason to use the app

hey Mattiles.,
I was intending to go buy my iPhone tomorrow and was only going to get the 8Gb. I don't watch any videos - what's using up all the space you need the 16Gb? Video, Music, photos?
It's an extra £100 and you can buy a lot of Smarties for £100!
Do I really need the 16Gb?
Advice appreciated. - BB

Most users seem to have at least 10 and some a lot more. Anyway how long have you been back on the Smarties? I thought that rehab had got you off them. You know what the yellow ones do to you. Now go and flush the remainder of the tube down the loo and treat yourself to a beer instead. Cat.

its actually only £50 difference "iPhone 3G 8GB for Pay & Go will be available for £349.99 and the 16GB version for £399.99." from o2.co.uk and yes i have over 9GB of video on there
apps are no problem at all i have about 40 on there at the mo and only a 121MB total

Cat and Mattiles, £50 is much better - may as well pay that and forgo any smarties. I've not been into video in my iPod nano but now with a bigger screen you never know. thanks for the advice - off to buy it now hee hee!

O2 store yesterday, walk in "Sell me an iPhone". Twenty minutes later I was walking out of the door, bag in hand and smile on face I don't see any need to go to a third party supplier, it's an O2 phone, it should come from an O2 shop. Which it did

Which it did the o2 store in question looked like an o2 store and indeed smelled like one but alas was not and the main reason why i didn't go straight to a REAL o2 store was that the CPW was a lot closer

the main reason why i didn't go straight to a REAL o2 store was that the CPW was a lot closer …and yet, so far away.
