'Ey up gang, I'm sorry to say that it's me again Unfortunately, I'm having a few issues with my TV reception, and was wondering if anybody is somewhat knowledgeable in this field. I live in the Granada TV region, which is due to start the digital switchover in November this year. Every single day there is another advert for it, so I expect this whole business to be very exciting! For the past couple of weeks, my TV reception has been awful. On a digital receiver the picture and sound constantly break up, and on an anologue receiver the picture is extremely fuzzy. I had a whole new aerial system fitted about a year ago, so I doubt a weathered aerial is the cause of the issue. I have contacted OFCOM who have offered to do an investigation, but I will be charged £50.00 if the fault turns out to be within my control. Is there anything I should check before getting this done, or is it just a side-effect of the digital switchover? Thanks, Peter.

Well, be systematic. Is it all of your VHF points that have poor reception? Does it depend on the weather?
Have you considered buying a TV signal strength meter to check your system?

Ah, sorry for wasting your time.
I've just been watching BBC1 and there's an apology for the signal issues in my area. Apparently, they've been doing some maintenance on the transmitter, affecting analogue and digital services.
Thanks anyway,
Peter.

My father lives in the Borders area and they've just switched over.
He didn't have any problems with loss of signal before the switchover, but it took a few weeks of channels suddenly going missing and new ones appearing before it all settled down.
