I've had a bash at the new version of Pages which seemed good to me. I like the pull down font and size menu bar.
Although the auto-complete list function is a pain in the arse, I couldn't find a way of turning it off!

I like iWork 08 too. Even Numbers is good, although I cannot replace Excel with it as I use macros and pivot tables in my job. For the average home user though, it is a very good option when you consider you get the excellent KeyNote and Pages as well, all for £55.
As for autocomplete list function, not sure what you mean. Don't you just select None from the List drop down icon?

I havent really used in anger yet but Numbers looks SO slick. I will definately use it next time I need to produce a spreadsheet that needs to look good...
I do think that for 90% of spreadsheets it will turn out to be a better option than traditional apps such as Excel.

I've been using iWork 08 (Pages, Keynote, and to a limited extent Numbers) for work for about 8 months both on my new MacPro and a borrowed MacBook before that. I've authored a huge suite of guidance documents for a work client recently as pdf outputs - but no one knows I did it on a Mac!
Because I can't officially use a Mac for this organisation (not supported blah de blah de blah) I've costed a PC laptop and Adobe Creative Suite software to get the same image rich product - will cost them £2000 - literally twice as much as using a MacBook with Pages to do the same.
