Hi there,
I've got a friend who has had a long career as a sign-writer and wants to get into web-design but doesn't know where to start. Can anyone recommend a good forum where he'll be able to get some good advice?
cheers - beerbum (hoping that the local still has Surrey Hills Shere Drop on as I'm going there for lunch….)

Don't know of any web forum, it's a subject that has been well covered in books though. As for web coding software on Mac it depends on how pro you want the site, you can download a template and personalise it, you can use iWeb but I really rate Freeway Pro. Bottom line is that these days you don't need to know code you use a wysiwyg UI much like doing DTP.

Another plus for Freeway. (http://www.softpress.com where you can download an unrestricted 30 day trial.)
If your friend wants to play with code, may I also suggest Coda from Panic? I have it, even though code blows my brain cell after a nanosecond.

^That's why it's made by a company called 'Panic'.

Thanks everyone. I'll pass that on when I see him this weekend. I don't think he'll want to get into coding. I think you have to have a certain type of brain to code. I spent months at school programming a RM 80186 machine, using basic, to draw Gaussian analysis curves… I've still not recovered… that's another reason for beer
