Hi all.
I have an iPhone 3G, and when I first bought it I put it in the glove box of my car with the iPhone USB wire plugged into the back of a Kenwood head unit. After upgrading to 4.0 software I started getting a message "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" and the iPhone would not connect to play music or charge.
I've since downgraded from 4.0 back to 3.1.3 software, but it still wont conntect like it did before! This is really starting to annoy me now, as I have far too much music to bring CD's into the car.
Does anyone know what I can do to get it working again?

Firstly, welcome to the Pussy Cat Club. Matt I am wondering if the OS update was coincidental. I have a dock for my iPhone that occasionally gives the same message. A loose contact seems to be the issue in my case. I wonder if your lead has developed a fault. Have you tried replacing it? M. le Chat

Thanks I haven't tried replacing yet no. To get to the back of the stereo (and USB wire) I need to remove a section of my dash board, which is a little time consuming. I'm just trying to exhaust all possible fixes first before checking the wire. But I do suspect you may be right and I'll have to accept defeat and replace the wire!

If you Google for iOS4 Kenwood error then it should show a long list of forum entries. However, there does appear to be a fix, see link below: discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2469735&tstart=1

Swatty, can't thank you enough! Resetting the stereo then re-syncing the iPhone with the stereo sorted it. First Craig Bellamy signs for Cardiff, and now my iPhone works again in my car....great day

Yes, but he actually did/does. I've seen him a fair few times in the crowd down Ninian Park watching us. Liverpool should never have sold him, he'd still be doing a job there now I think.

I don't think they will. We're only paying £20-£25k a week, which is close to what we pay Michael Chopra anyways. The money Bellamy will generate from fans and TV will pretty much cover his wages I believe.
