Thought it could be a nice idea if people would upload pictures of their Dashboards and recommend good widgets for each other. Here's mine (The ones with on them are ones already built in to OSX): -The web clips let me keep track of new releases my Buckethead, my favourite artist. -Gmail widget -iTunes control -Turn the screen off on my iMac button -Convertor -Calculator -Countdown X -Weather -Translator -Chi Pet -Currency convertor -Stickies -System stats (iStat Nano) Attachments:

I tweeted about this the other day. I so rarely use Dashboard, it took my system about five minutes to load the handful of widgets I have set up, and it prompted me to ask if anyone really uses Dashboard in anger.
I am old skool with Macs, see. Before all this multi-threading, multi-screen and multi-window stuff arrived, I'd created strategies to cope with clutter. I hide applications I don't need to see right now; I minimise windows to the Dock. I never found a use for Exposé at all, and the first thing I do with a new OS X install is drag the Dashboard icon from the Dock.
There are two buttons on my keyboard for Exposé and Dashboard which never get used. I think they're the only clean keys! I've disabled the mouse gestures to call the "features" up.
So, what I'm saying is, while I have a couple of weather widgets set up, a currency converter, the translator widget and something else that escapes me, I use them so rarely they may as well not be there at all.
;D

Dashboard and Widgets used to be a large part of the podcast. Not so much now. There is a list somewhere. Also there was The Cats Selection. ;D

^Thanks for the linky. I just downloaded the guitar tuner. I probably won't use it much because I have one already, but it will come in useful when it dies and I can't find a battery!

I made a thread a while ago where I said I wouldn't buy the Magic Mouse because of the lack of a squeeze button for Expose (And I think there was no middle button for Dashboard). I used to have to close windows and minimise strategically on XP. When I found that I didn't need to on Mac and everything worked the way it was supposed to without something crashing, I loved it, and still do. I would really miss both of these features if they went.

The preceding just goes to show that we are all different! At least with a Mac there are nice easy to use options that you can take or leave, to taste.
I too have a lot of widgets almost all of which I never use, but there are some that are handy on the odd occasion and the ease of access is good.
