I've got BBC iPlayer Downloader (thanks to this forum for pointing me to it) and it works fine - except that the resulting files have a flaw in them, and I can't view the full file - it stops half-way through. Not exactly half way, but frustratingly after I've just got involved in the show - 20 minutes or so into the action.
I've tried several different players - Quick Time, Real Player, VLC, and I've tried both iPlayerGrabber and iPlayer Downloader. Every time, and at the same spot in the movie, it just stops. So I guess it's within the source file. If I move the cursor beyond the current point, it refuses to play anything, and AVC will simple jump back to the start of the movie so I guess the file is of the correct length (as seen in the progress bar) but the contents are blank or illegible.
And I've tried it on several different shows downloaded from the BBC. So I think I've tried all the variables, and none of them seem to affect the outcome.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Have you tried uninstalling iPlayer and reinstalling it? What Platform are you on? If your on Windows, you may need to reboot in between the steps.

I'm on Snow Leopard. Most programs worked great, since mid december nothing works anymore! re-installed with different versions, still no joy. Does it work for anyone else? wondering if there have been changes at the BBC (the introduction of the 3 second trailer?)

I haven't used iplayer downloader in a while as I came across Get Iplayer Automator from clickyThis works better than iplayer downloader did at the time and it compatible with leopard but is recommended for use with Snow Leopard. This app will automatically add to iTunes also. I recently downloaded nightmare before christmas and the dirk gently thing (which I watched on my iPad)

For some reason the images arent displaying, not sure if this is the forum or a problem with skitch If you delete the "s" from https in the url then it works as before. An irritating change in Skitch.
