A question for all you photography professionals/buffs out there. I am in the market for a second hand digital SLR which I will use mainly for taking pictures of Motorsport.
So I need to have a camera with more than 9 megapixels (I currently have a Fuji Finepix compact with that resolution) with a fast shutter speed and little shutter lag.
SD storage would be my preference but willing to try anything.
My question is does anyone have any recommendations as I am confused by all the choice (I am beginning to understand why my family come to me when they are buying laptops)
Cheers Simon

I would start by thinking about how much you want to spend, with dslrs you can go from a few hundred to thousands of pounds. If you're looking for something to get into the dslr market then I would suggest taking a look at: Canon 450D, 500D Nikon D3000, D5000 For motorsport you'll be looking at a telephoto lens, these can get expensive really quickly so I would suggest maybe buying a standard 70-300mm for around £150 to start with and experiment (with the crop factor on the sensors of all but prof. full frame cameras you actually get a longer zoom effect). Scott Bourne (macbreak weekly) recently posted a little buying guide for dslrs: photofocus.com/2010/10/27/annual-dslr-camera-buying-guide/Hope this gives you starting point

Hope this is not to late, I've been into photography for many years and would go along with the Canon cameras recommended above. it does depend on your budget, but the Canon 550D would make a great camera, if you add the grip, it will feel better to use and has the additional shutter release when being used vertically. I've used both Nikon and Canon and take more photos with a Canon SLR, because it's so easy to use. Hope this helps. Terry
