I am thinking about getting a refurb iMac. Some have the "extreme" label added to them. What does it mean? Here is one example

I'm pretty sure that in this case the word "extreme" is simply the last word of the processor's full name. The particular iMac linked to as an example was the "iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme". The Intel Core 2 processors are a family of processors like the Pentiums and Celerons and currently come in three versions - Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Intel Core 2 Quad processor, and Intel Core 2 Extreme processor. More info about Intel's current desktop processors can be found at: www.intel.com/products/desktop/processors/index.htm

That is interesting, but confusing. The refurb has this spec. Model Refurbished 24-inch iMac Processor 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme L2 Cache 4MB Shared System bus 800MHz The current new iMac has this spec. Model 24-inch: iMac Processor 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L2 Cache not stated System bus 800MHz Are these the same and if not wherein lies the difference?
