If you are new to the Mac then you may not know much of it’s history. To be honest I am no expert either. However a browse round YouTube brings some rewarding footage. 1984 Launch 11984 Launch 21984 Launch 31984 The first advertsNotice the cheers for the floppy disc when steve pulls it out in the third video. They were still pretty new back then. CC

As you say CC, cheers when the floppy disc appears! I remember when the original 1999 iMac came out without a floppy and people gasped! I think the MacBook Air is today in similar territory with the lack of a Optical Drive. In '99 the idea of transferring 1.44mb over the internet seemed madness, and today the concept of transferring 4.7gb seems madness too. But life moves fast and technology moves faster!

There is an advert that I have found from 1983 that is worth a look. It stars the Lisa computer and is supported by the then relatively unknown Keven Cosner. LISA Advert ClickyIf you want to know more about LISA there are two eight minute demos of it here. LISA Demo 1 ClickyLISA Demo 2 ClickyLISA obviously pre-dates the Mac but you can see how the Mac was a natural evolutionary step from it.
