I have recently become quite keen on Spotify and wanted to use it to play music remotely on my Apple TV/iPad. Although it is not too difficult to remotely play music from iTunes, playing Spotify music is quite another matter. However, I have discovered Airfoil/Airfoil speakers (a misleading name in my opinion because it refers to software not loudspeakers) www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/ that makes the job really easy and works fine. I am currently using the trial version, the fully working version costs $25 (about £15). I would be interested to hear of any other options, or other people's experience.

not sure on your scenario yet, but I've just signed up for the 7 day free trial of premium membership. i have a sonos setup, which is fantastic and works with spotify, napster etc ... directly, without a pc in the way. I'll let you know if I discover anything cool this week.

Update: I really enjoyed the Spotify experience whilst it was on free trial, but did cancel before having to pay or the service. It is fairly good, but I personally didn't think it worth the £10/month (Premium is required for Sonos integration - but there is a version for half that cost).
I read recently that the free version of Spotify has been further restricted too - only allowing 10 hours of play time per month when previously one was permitted 20 - I didn't even know of the restriction previously - I thought it was just the adverts that got in the way. Anyway, I've always like Napster (but don't subscribe to that either at the moment). Napster is "only" £5/month and you can download five mp3s per month to keep - whether or not you continue to subscribe.
Lots of pros and cons for each service. Which one is best for you just depends!
Or neither in my case!
