"I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
-Martin Luther King Jr.

It seems that only the start of the quote is from MLK Jr but the sentiment is spot on. I feel robbed of my humanity (cat-anity) when I hear the clamour over the death of one misguided soul. I have no association with any political group but anger, hate, greed and revenge sadden me.

^ Well said Beerbum, must agree especially as details are released it increasing looks like an execution Interesting (to me) that my reaction has nothing to do with the issues of execution or not. It's the gleeful celebration of another's death that bothers me. Now the execution or not is another matter. I think you could make a case that Bin Laden was a combatant, military commander and therefore legitimate target. I'm not personally making that argument mind. The other thing that is really bothering me at the moment is what is going on in Syria and how little attention it is getting in the British media…. maybe I should change my handle to "Mr Thoroughly Annoyed"
