I've got a document that I created in Pages 06 and have opened it in Pages 08. Pages defaults to Word Processor mode but I wont to change to Page Layout mode.
Does anyone know how to change between word processing and page layout modes in an existing document?
To quote Apple's website "Switch easily between word processing and page layout modes". How!!!!
Cheers,
Will

Hi Will, from what I gather I'm not sure you can. I think what Apple means is you can easily work in Word Processing mode, or in Page Layout mode. You can easily create a document in either, but then you're stuck with that mode.
There is an option in the view menu to Show Layouts, but I'm guessing this isn't what you want?

I am with Barry on this one. The best I could come up with was to select all, copy and then choose a blank page layout using "New From Template" in the File menu before pasting. CC

Thanks Church Cat and Barry. After looking into it the workings of the different modes aren't as easy as I thought, the two modes are very different. Infact you could class them as two separate applications.
If you look into the code the layout mode works with objects and the word processor mode doesn't, so there is no easy [or infact it looks like there is no way] of swapping between the two modes as Pages stands as of now.
