Right dudes, here is the problem.
I have a 5G "Video" iPod. When I wake it up I get the usual top level of the menu screen. If I use the centre button and scroll function I can get to any function.
So far so good.
Now if instead of navigating to what I want to play I just press the play button. I jump like magic to one of my jazz albums. Always the same one.
Does anyone know how I can change the music that I get to via this "instant play" feature?

What is the name of the artist and album title (as they are displayed on the iPod / in iTunes) and does that particular artist appear at the top of the list when you select the "artist" submenu (and is the album the first one listed when you select the artist)?
.....On many versions of the iPod pressing the play when nothing in particular is selected to be played seems to default to having the same efect as selecting "all" from the "artist" submenu.... if the particular artist / album aren't at the top of the list in the "artist" submenu it's quite possible that they are at the top in another catagory submenu.

What is the name of the artist and album title You are a smart dude. Yes the artist is the one at the top of my artist list. What a shame it is not a setting that can be changed. I would have been nice for me to have my most recently bought album at the touch of a button. *shrug* Anyway thanks for sorting out that mystery for me.
