It is here it is free but is it any good?
The severs are down at the minute so I can't evaluate it myself yet. Has anyone here tried it?

I got it as soon as I spotted the story on MacUser. It's okay. Nothing to write home about in the looks department, and has some interface quirks - due, obviously, to the cross platform nature of the beast.
It's got a lot of stuff, though. Comprehensive would be a good description. In my "will it open this dodgy client Word doc" test, it passed with flying colours.
For me, it's another tool in my toolbox. It lets me handle the newer formats from MS Office without the expense. That alone is a winner.

My Macs are all still PowerPC and had been waiting to see how well NeoOffice 3.0 compared (I've upgraded OpenOffice to version 3 on my PCs and Linux boxes). After visiting the NeoOffice site it looks like I'll have to wait for a bit longer: Perhaps that helps explain why OpenOffice is Intel only for the Macs (although maybe not).
