Anyone using Screen Spanning Doctor on a PowerPC imac? I'm worried it might be a bit of a gamble and really don't want to nobble my computer. My model (17" G5 imac 2GHZ ATI Radeon9600) is listed as compatible, but with all sorts of disclaimers from the developer. I've read many ecstatic reviews on the internet for the donationware SSD but also some horror stories on the sites own forum forum.macparts.de/viewtopic.php?t=487It seems that these older macs have graphics cards with the ability to extend the desktop but have this feature disabled..the SSD enables this ability (i'm still using Tiger 10.4.11) any advice from anyone who knows anything about SSD would be much appreciated Should anyone own an ATI rage based ibook, apparently this hack does kill your computer for sure Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere thanks in advance long live BritishMac....Britannia waives the rules! Just a follow up..i gingerly applied the screen spanning doctor and it works great! I now have a PPC imac with an extended desktop. So i can confirm this works with no problems specifically for the model mentioned above. Works great with Modul8 and an infocus DLP projector.

I considered using Screen Spanning Doctor when I was going to use a G5 for Karaoke. I ended up buying an Intel MacBook though so it became irrelevant. Great that it worked for you. Cat

I used it on my G5 iMac. No problems over the three years I had an older Apple Studio display hanging off the back of it.
