Does anyone use a mouse other than the one supplied?
I am looking for a wireless mouse for my imac as my middle wheel has stopped working and anyway the mouse is too small for my liking.
Any recommendations?

Any recommendations? I have always managed with the Apple mouse. Though I hear that the offerings from Microsoft are very nice. Cat

before moving to my macbook I always used the Microsoft Intellimouse explorer series they're some of the best mice available (as long as you're right handed) I had bought three during my pc years only replacing them when the feet were worn off and they'd gone a dull colour never had one wear out physically just emotionally

For wired mice, the Contour Perfit Mouse Optical www.contourdesign.com/pmo/ can be very comfortable (it comes in several different sizes and includes a little support shelf for your thumb on the side). Some people love it's design. However you asked about wireless mice and I'd tend to agree that Microsoft offer a pretty good selection which are likely to include one which you like (as long as you are right handed). personally though I use a Kensington Trackball (combined with a Microsoft Office Keyboard - which includes scroll wheel and most 'mouse buttons' on it's left hand side).

There is really no substitute for trying a few! Everyone's hands are different. How much are you going to use the mouse? I have a Macbook Pro 17" - if I'm travelling I use the trackpad, at work I have a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which is a nice shape, has some nice buttons, but feels a bit plasticky. I keep a tiny Microsoft wireless mouse in my briefcase and at home I have an old Apple Extended II keyboard and one button mouse (ADB - I have an ADB to USB converter) which is by far and away the best combination I have ever used. They stopped making them about 10 years ago, though. I think it's called progress!

As a postscript - apparently today is the 40th birthday of the mouse. Macworld has an interesting article about some mice/ mouse alternatives: <clicky>

I have a trackball at home. It's wired, but you can get wireless varients. If I could use the trackball on all the machines I have to use I'd be very happy iindeed, but it's not really practical to keep bring it to and from work.

I like using RemotePad itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=291741057&mt=8 on my iPod Touch as a wireless remote/trackpad for my mac, you can turn on two-finger scroll as well, very easy setup, I mainly like using it because you can like back with your feet up and use your mac without having to be sitting upright!!! And it looks cool! I did like using the Microsoft intellimouse when I was on the dark side though , it was very comfortable, a lot of people don't seem to like the Mighty Mice, but I don't seem to have a problem with them

I like the Logitech wireless mini mouse. Just make sure you don't install the software.
