It's a minor annoyance, but I hope someone has the answer, please Whenever I add a song onto iTunes, either from the iTunes Store or CD, it appears in my music library as it should do. I click "Sync" to put this new music onto my iPhone and the sync completes without an issue. The problem is that the new music is not actually transferred onto my iPhone, despite iTunes having synced it. If I plug the device in again and do a second sync, the new music is transferred. I have often wondered where my songs are after syncing and I have realised that I have to do two complete syncs for the music to be transferred. Any ideas, please? Peter.

At the risk of sounding patronising, are you sure that the music has finished downloading? I currently have my music library on an external hard drive attached to a very old eMac. Occasionally - and only occasionally, a sync fails to pick up all my new music. I think this is due to the fact that I begin the sync before the eMac has finished processing the file even though it appears to have finished downloading. I know your computer is much faster than my eMac, but it might be worth slowing down in your anticipation of new listening pleasure. Does the same thing happen with podcasts/ videos?

Hi Tim,
Yes, I'm absolutely sure the media has finished downloading and processing. Sometimes, I sync several hours after adding the music, yet it still doesn't sync.
I've just added a video onto iTunes and it does not sync on the first go =\
Thanks,
Peter.

'Fraid I'm at a loss in that case. The only other sync problems I have had are when using the dock which came with my first gen iPhone with my iPhone 3G. It sort of fits, but the connection can be a bit dodgy. I've also had problems when using an iPod USB cable with an iPhone. They fit and work most of the time, but there can be problems - but yours is so consistent, I can't believe that is the problem.

Thanks for your help anyway, Tim. I'll get onto Apple sometime and see what they reckon. I know they will make me restore it and so forth, which is always a pain Peter.
