Does anyone know how I can reduce my jpegs in iPhoto that make them smaller for e-mailing?

In iPhoto select the photo or photos you want to send.
In the Menu Bar select Share>Email (or use the Email icon at the bottom of iPhoto)
It will ask you what photo size you want (Small, Medium, Large or Actual).
Select Compose.
Your mail application will start and you can choose who you are sending to and write your email message.

Ah simple as that, cani change the settings so that it doesn't use Mail as the default e-mail client? As you know from my other thread, I'm having problems with it! Can I change it so I can send pics this way via Thunderbird?

I've only got the Mail application but would think if you change the default app in your Mail preferences to Thunderbird, then you'd be fine using iPhoto and Thunderbird. A system preference app I run is "RCDefaultApp" which allows you to change your email and other defaults all from the System Preferences (much more logical). You can get it for free from:- www.rubicode.com/Software/RCDefaultApp/

Great program but unfotunately I've checked my preferences on iphoto and there is a drop down list for e-mail but it doesn't cover Thunderbird! Just need to get my Mailworking now! Cheers

I would have thought that once you've made your mail application's default "Thunderbird" then it would automatically open Thunderbird when you select Mail. Shame if that is not the case. Anyway, I think you have the Mail settings working now, so all is well.

For quick, powerful image resizing (including adding rounded borders, text, arrows, cropping etc) I would personally use the free imagewell xtralean.com/IWOverview.htmlAlternatively, use the quicksilver image manipulation plugin.
