Hi all,
Had problems with my new Macbook loosing wireless connection and having intermittent kernal crashes. Looked on a few forums and discovered that I was far from alone. The issue appears to be pointing to wards the 10.4.10 update. Many users have and continue to have serious problems with crashes and wireless following this update.
Apple replaced my Macbook for me via the Southampton store....but again since the update I am loosing wireless very regularly, no kernels this time. Only work around is to disconnect and reconnect the wireless.
Has anyone heard of this on here, and better still found a fix?
kind regards
Tim

I've heard of it but as far as I know there is no fix. People are suggesting keeping your MacBook at 10.4.9
We'll probably need Apple to release a firmware/software update to fix this issue.

Hi,
Yep that's the impression that I got from some other users, wait for update.
One question remains for myself is, can you uninstall 10.4.10? I am a new Mac convert and can't see a way to. Apart from reinstalling the OS a fresh, then obviously not updating to.10

Unfortunately, that is the easiest way if you don't know what you're doing. The alternative is to try and find the kernel extension that is causing the problem and replacing the troublesome file with the one that used to work from an earlier release of the OS. You can use something like Pacifist to do this but you need to know the Kernel file and if you make a mistake, you can crash your machine.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, sounds too advanced for me with a Mac as of yet. I think I will wait for the update, I believe Apple are aware of the problem.
and thanks again mabsey,
Tim
