I think the BBC is a British icon! When i first moved to Uk in 2007, i couldn't believe how people would rave about the BBC, and how good it was. (coming from Australia, i thought it just made those dreary soaps from the 70s, with the theme music that made you want to commit suicide ). OK, so i wasn't wrong about the awful theme music , BUT i was wrong generally about the Beeb. After 6yrs of living in the UK, i really enjoyed seeing the wide variety of shows on BBC1, & 2. Scott. ps- I still think that idea of a TV Licence is the most ridiculous idea in the world. Can't believe that in this day & age of free media, that the Poms put up with it still.

License fee is a great thing; how else would us Mac users be able to chuck a load of money towards a Windows only catch up TV software app?

I don't mind paying the license fee, I believe this unique funding method is the reason for the beeb's quality. A lot of advertising funded networks have to pamper in their programming to the advertisers.

I love the BBC and have no problems at all paying the license fee.

I would hate to see adverts arrive on the Beeb. Also who else but dear old Aunty would have come up with Doctor Who? CC
