I'm a recent convert to that Cockney wit, Danny Baker. Although he might be considered a somewhat niche British Icon by some, there seems to be a huge groundswell of love and support for him in his many guises as a broadcaster. His latest venture is a free podcast www.thealldaybreakfastshow.com and it's well worth checking out if you liked any of his previous formats. To prove my point it's in the top 25 download list on iTunes after only a month of starting.

He's just brought out a new podcast with Danny Kelly called (funnily enough) Baker and Kelly. It's a hark back to the football phone-ins they did in the past. I listened to the first one today and it sounds like it will be good.

Well no gun needed because if you followed the link to the site I mentioned in my original post you will have seen that all of the free podcasts have been pulled. Both his show and the football one he did with Danny Kelly. Something to do with a falling out with the company that was publishing them.
But he's still available to non-Londoners via BBC London radio online between 3pm and 5pm Mon-Fri.

He hosts the bbc radio five's football phone in "606" which is very entertaining. He's moved it on from the typical phone-in of it's sort to one which is altogether entertaining and somewhat off the wall. It is now off-air until the new footy season, however it is available as a podcast. Definitely worth the listen.
