This morning I made a slideshow in iPhoto using the Shatter transition which I really like when used in moderation. I wanted to import it into a Keynote presentation which I was doing, so it would run automatically - but the only way I could find of doing so was to export it from iPhoto to Quicktime, then importing the movie. The only other option appears to be to leave Keynote, run the slideshow from iPhoto, then go back to Keynote. All of this feels very clunky and un-Mac-like. Am I missing something? Tim

I didn't even realise iPhoto had a slideshow thing until now... I just checked, mine doesn't have that shatter effect you mention. I'm using iLife 08.

Am I missing something? Tim No I don't think so. The transitions are linked to the app. I had a similar issue when I wanted to have the transitions in iPhoto within an iDVD project. I could use iDVDs transitions in iDVD but not iPhoto and I could use iPhotos transitions within iPhoto but not in iDVD There is so much integration between the iApps that it took me by surprise. I guess this will remain the case unless they make transitions part of the OS instead of part of the individual Apps. Rather like they have done with Core Animation.
