Just purchased my first smart phone(android) and thus created a gmail account.
Just wondered if anyone has had any experience in syncing the calenders.
I've set up the link fine which adds the calenders from gmail into ical. However I already have calenders set up in iCal that I would like to push up/sync/add to google.
Has anyone ever tried to do this..?
ps I realise this is an apple forum, however the iPhone is just too big for my liking, I needed something smaller! Surely someone has a gmail account?

I don't have an Android so can't confirm, but this seems a pretty helpful article.

Hey, thanks for the replies. Missing sync looks really good, but is a little overkill for what I need. I feel I may have not explained clearly what I need to do. The phone part is fine, its literally the iCal to Gmail syncing(the phone already syncs with gmail automatically). Basically ical and gmail are synced, however I can only sync calenders created on the gmail side. I have a number of calenders already created on ical that I would like to sync up to gmail. Apart from recreating these calenders from scratch, does anyone have any ideas ...

Ah - that's different! Sorry - it was Monday Morning. I've been using Spanning Sync for years without any problem. This allows me full two way syncing. They also do a thing called Spanning tools which clean up your calendar if (when) things go wrong and you end up with duplicate events etc. And no, I don't work for them or receive anything for this recommendation.

Spanning sync looks good, thanks wierdostomps It does seem weird that iCal has the ability to link and sync with gmail with no additional software but only with gmail created calenders...

I thought The Missing Sync would be overkill if you were already using Google for calendars - it was more of a just incase suggestion if you were purely looking at syncing the calendars between mac and phone better without having to have anything located in the clouds. It does seem weird that iCal has the ability to link and sync with gmail with no additional software but only with gmail created calenders... My memory is far from perfect, but I seem to vaguely recall that there used to be a slightly clunky way around this in the past which involved using either .mac or mobile me as a mid way point between Google's gmail calendars and an Apple computer's iCal calendars...... If my memory is correct then this would have been a while back now, so even if it did work then it might not now.
