Apple's sales for the fourth quarter were 23.7% higher than in the same quarter of 2009, said Gartner, while IDC had Apple's year-over-year increase at 15.2%. Those numbers trumped the industry average growth rate, which dropped into negative numbers in both research company's assessment. Gartner said the U.S. market fell by 6.6%, while IDC called the decline 4.8%.
By becoming mainstream does this open up problems like viruses?
Only if becoming mainstream also means OS X is no longer being based on UNIX
There may be more Trojans though. If you buy only from the Mac App Store even this problem may be non existent.

Will Green: I'm really looking forward to iOS 13, at the moment the iPad hardware is way ahead of the OS. My MacBook Pro was accidentally broken, so when going on business or interviews I take my iPad. The files app seems very clumsy as it is.
