Does anyone here use a simple vector artwork tool? I don't want to have to pay for a serious tool like InDesign but then I only need a tiny subset of the tools. Any suggestions?

2 suggestions from me (both of which are free of charge and open source)..... First up Inkscape ( inkscape.org/) which is quite heavily featured. Because of the amount that it can do it might take a little while to get used to, but several very good printed user manuals are available. Second one is Pencil ( www.pencil-animation.org/) which is still in (slow but active) development. Not all the potential features have been included yet, but it has the rather nifty ability to combine bitmapped and vector layers within the same picture. Don't know if either of these will meet your needs - but at least with them being free of charge they'll only cost you time and not money to try out.

Haven't got any suggestions of simple vector tools, just wanted to say Illustrator is the vector tool within creative suite, although indesign has some similar capabilities.

Oops yes you are right. Vector stuff is tricky to learn. Mind you all graphics programs seem tricky to me.

Hello Mr Cat. Hope you are well! Also on the AppStore is a program called 'Sketch'. I too have been looking for a Vector program recently and this one has the nicest, easiest Gui out of the lot of them! You can download a 30 trial from here: www.bohemiancoding.com/sketch

I have this saved on my computer, no idea why. Infinite zoomage of the KFC logo. I might have got it for a Buckethead KFC Bucket design I did once... Attachments:
