Depends how important spin speed is to you. The one you're looking at is about £25 more than this one which I put into my Mum's MB a few weeks ago. The one you're looking at is 7200rpm, whereas the Western Digital is only 5400, but then my MBP only has a 5400 rpm disk and I can't say I've noticed.

Thanks for the advice, after having more of a thorough search I ended up getting a 250gb as I really don't need 500gig for what I use the computer for.
There was a WD and a Seagate around the same price. Got the seagate in the end as it was slightly cheaper, they were both identical in spec and could find no real pros or cons for either drive.

Hi Dave, a cunning tip is don't throw your old Hard Drive away. Although Apple warranty is a year or 3 if you've paid the extra, most drives come with a manufacturer's five year warranty. If you find the manufacturer and seriel number off the drive and go to their website they will tell you it's warranty status. I've done this on a few drives, post it back to eg Hitachi and after about a month you get a new one shipped back.
