Is there an easy way to count them? Or does iTunes tell you? I'm not near iTunes at the moment.

The closest thing to Apps I have are Brick, Parachute and Solitaire on my iPod Video 30GB. Oh, and it has a Search function and can Shuffle Play All songs.

You can also see the App count on the device itself by going to Settings/General/About
My iPad reports 202 Apps. I probably use as few as 7 or 8 on a regular and frequent basis.

Why do we do this? I mean, why do we accrue apps like this, only for them to end up in the digital equivalent of the cupboard under the stairs.
I'm just as guilty, even though I don't own an iDevice. A glance at my Applications folder shows all kinds of cruft that may have been installed, used for a bit, and now lies dormat, taking up bytes.

Ever been in the girl guides Heather? I was in the scouts once. It was fun to collect the badges. One of my mates had loads of badges. Tree climbing badge Mousing badge Waking your owner from the widow-ledge badge Catching a goldfish badge etc. He only ever caught the clockwork mouse that he needed for his test but he still wore the badge with pride.

Ever been in the girl guides Heather? No, I was a St John Ambulance nursing cadet. We only had to collect 12 proficiency subjects.

Recent purchase is a productivity app. called "Putting Things Off". (I liked the title) Very simple to use. Seems to motivate me to complete more tasks in a day. How strange is that? In concept it is like putting post-it notes on the screen of your iMac. However if you know that you can't do the job today you can peel the note off the screen (the today list) and it will reattach itself automatically at an interval that suits you. Each task really has too options. "Put it off" or "Done". A nice concept.
