Hi
I have been using mobileme for about 18 months to mainly sync all my calenders across my work Outlook (not outlook server), iphone and now ipad. Initially it was great and then when I upgraded mobileme last year I lost the outlook sync and had to create a sub calender in Outlook. I have started thinking the at £60 not worth it and even if as rumoured it becomes free still a pain.
Is there another alternative I can use?

Although I use MobileMe, useful for some back-up capabilities, I have gone over to Google Calendar which I find generally better. Dropbox is another free alternative for some back-up storage.

Thanks, I already use a combination of Dropox and Mozy. So does Google calendar actually sync with outlook calendar?

I don't think Google Calendar syncs directly to Outlook on the Mac (see this guide for details). However, it does sync to iCal, which, I assume, is able to sync to Outlook. Personally, I have just turned off my automatic renewal to MobileMe. I need the two way syncing which Google gives me - and Apple have just prevented Mobile Me from syncing bi-directionally under any circumstances. Since I turned off MobileMe syncing at the beginning of May, I haven't noticed that it wasn't there. And everything else that MobileMe gives me I can get for free elsewhere.

I use crashplan for backup (found mozy used too much CPU) and Sugarsync for general cloud type file storage/sync. Used to use Dropbox until they started changing their Ts&Cs and had some security issues. Sugar sync gives 5gb of free storage plus it syncs across MAC, Windows, iOS and Anndroid (sadly not Linux yet).
