Hi!
I wonder if anybody can help with this little problem I have.
I'm a keen photographer and I've managed to fill the 640gb hard drive of my iMac with RAW files. So, I splashed out on a WD 'My Book' external drive and moved my photos and iTunes library over to that.
Is there any way to set up sharing preferences so that the kids can't access it from their accounts?
I've tried Changing the sharing and permissions in the 'Get info' window in the finder but this doesn't seem to work.
Thanks in advance, chin chin etc!

Hmm, That would be how I would have done it. Are you Admin? Are they user? Can you set permissions to Admin only? If it wont work on the drive, can you put the images in one folder and then set the permissions on that folder in the way you have just described?

I suspect that the fact that all accounts are admin is where the problem lies.
I have tried every permutation of settings and to no avail.
Whilst setting folder permissions is a good idea I was hoping to keep my pristine 4tb of drive space just for myself!!!
Selfish I know but hey! I paid for it!!!!
Many thanks M. Le Chat.
